We are excited to introduce the 2012 block of the month featuring Sharyn Craig‘s “Building Blocks Phase 1.” Each month you will receive a block pattern designed by Sharyn in your choice of four different color ways:

What makes each block unique is that you choose color placement each month. Your block may be completely different from everyone else’s.

Monthly kits are $8/month for the batik 9″ block and $7/month for the three other 9″ blocks.

Book Review: “Scrap Republic”

Time to clear out the scrap tubs ladies!

We have a new book at the Crazy 9 Patch and I know you won’t just ‘like it’, you’ll love it. It’s “Scrap Republic,” by Emily Cier. In her book she asks, “Have you met Roy G. Biv? Roy G. Biv is an acronym for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet – the colors featured in the 8 quilts featured in the book. Intriguing, contemporary patterns that are geared for both the adventurous beginner and the confident intermediate quilter.” These a perfect projects to use all the pieces you’ve stashed from other projects, or pieces you cut for a quilt you never made, or those beautiful single pieces you were going to build a project around and never did.

Emily will help you get sorted and started on 8 clever, colorful pieces. Don’t worry if you haven’t built that stash yet, there are alternate instructions for using newly purchased yardage. I intend to make each one and hang them on my walls. I’ll have my very own gallery dedicated to Roy G. Biv. It’s The Holiday Season at the C9P

I Love Love Love this time of year! Yummy food, family and friends gathering. And Quilting, lots of quilting. Tis the season for all those holiday gifts and decorations.

Everyday I am unwrapping fabrics with candy corn, witches, snowmen and candy canes. They are flying out of the door as fast as they come in. Let us not forget the Christmas cowboy boot fabric. Step away from your machine long enough to stop by and get yours!
